Type A Rocks is Austin’s high-energy 90s/2000s cover band, bringing the golden era of rock back to life at weddings, corporate events, festivals, and packed venues across Texas. Friends first, bandmates second, we traded touring with original projects for a shared mission: deliver the anthems people love from grunge, pop-punk, emo, alternative, and indie with a guitar-driven, crowd-rocking edge.
With 15+ years of experience and a 170+ song catalog, no two shows are the same. We tailor every set to the audience and venue, blending spot-on renditions with our own energy and style. From wedding receptions at the Fairmont to company parties at Kalahari to sold-out nights at Speakeasy Austin, we bring detail, interaction, and professionalism that keep crowds singing and planners smiling.
We’ve lit up stages from ACL Moody Theatre to Q2 Stadium, and we’re ready to make your event the one everyone talks about long after the last chord.
Our Story
How It All Started – A Band Built for the Crowd
Before Type A filled venues across Texas, we were four longtime friends who had played in separate touring bands. As our lives evolved, so did our purpose — and we realized there was a massive need for live performances of the unforgettable rock hits from the 90s and 2000s. So, we set out to revive this great era of music — with more distortion, more singalongs, and zero ego.
What We Play
From Grunge to Pop-Punk – The Soundtrack of a Generation
Our setlist features over 170 songs from across the rock spectrum: Grunge, Alternative, Emo, Indie, and Pop-Punk. Think Blink-182, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, Nirvana, Third Eye Blind, and beyond. We don’t just play the songs — we own them. Every show is tailored to the event, audience, and venue, ensuring no two performances are the same.

You can find us lighting up stages at Speakeasy Austin, ACL Moody Theatre, The Highball, Round Rock Tavern, and Founders Day Festival. We’ve played private weddings at Fairmont Austin and corporate events at Kalahari Resort. Based in Austin, we perform across the state from Dallas to Corpus Christi.
